Twitter is testing new notifications

The Twitter team continues to test new dynamics that capture the attention of users, taking into account their behaviour and giving new options to explore.

As they comment on Mashable, they are testing a new feature in the mobile app, which shows users notifications with breaking news, as some users have shown as we see in the capture that is shared below:

The dynamic is similar to what Twitter follows when displaying alerts for weather events, or other types of emergencies.

This selection of news seems to be selected taking into account different criteria, depending on what they consider relevant to the user, depending on their location or preferences. For example, some of the notifications that users have received are about the attack in Berlin, or news about Donald Trump.

Although now seems to make this new feature more noticeable, it takes time to test among select groups of users. Twitter has confirmed this feature, but only as part of an ongoing experiment.

So, it is possible that it will never be implemented for the rest of the users, depending on the results of the test ... how successful are the selection of news, the interest of users, their level of commitment, etc.
