Youtube Lanches messaging feature
YouTube has been testing since the middle of last year the new messaging feature built into the mobile application with a small group of users. This feature is launched officially today but only for users in Canada.
The choice of Canada as the starting point for the new feature is not accidental because, as they point out in their launch announcement, the average participation of Canadians, that is, when uploading content to the platform, is a 15 % Higher than the global average.
With this, YouTube wants users to receive a complete experience without having to go to other tools. In this sense, it will no longer be necessary to share videos or discuss them using external communication tools such as e-mail services or electronic messaging applications.
Users will find in their accounts a new tab in which they will be able to add to family and friends and other acquaintances as contacts to start with them conversations in text format where they will also have the possibility to share videos, among other characteristics.
The new feature is already present in the YouTube app for Android and iOS devices. In this regard, from YouTube point out that by sharing videos with family and friends from anywhere in the world, they will also have the possibility to make use of the new feature
