If for some reason you have decided to change hosting service, or server within the same service, there are some websites that help with the task of migration, and in this brief list we comment some of them:

- A DNS parser: When we change the DNS of our domain to point to a new server, it must be propagated by thousands of servers around the world, and this process can take several hours (it can take several days in some cases). That means some people will see the old server content, while others will see the new server, and there is very little we can do to avoid that delay.

To help to know the status of the copy of the new DNs between the servers it is necessary to consult an analyser, and for this we have several that do a very good job, like dnscheck.pingdom.com, dnschecker.org and whatsmydns.net. All of them work in a similar way: we write our domain and we see in a map the sites in which the DNS has already been updated and those that are still with the old one.

- openDNS check: Many servers use OpenDNS to verify the address of each domain, including social networks and search engines, which is why it is important to refresh the "memory" of this platform to make the migration faster. Most of the time we do not have a button to refresh the DNS of the servers, but with OpenDNs it is simple: we put our domain, we verify its state and, in case of still problems of synchronisation, we refresh the data.

- An extension of WordPress: There are many WordPress extensions that help to perform a migration between servers, mainly when the websites are small, since there is no plugin that does a migration of a web of 500 gigas. There is a good collection of these plugins in wpsuperstars, but among them I recommend All-in-One WP Migration, always updated and with more than 300,000 installations. It also allows migrating the web to services such as the cloud and Amazon.

Of course, it is important to always have someone close to you who knows the details of what we are doing, as there may be unforeseen events during the migration that no web or plugin will easily solve.
