WHAT IS ROUTING

ROUTING:A set of message ,rules and algorithm used by routers for over all purpose of learning routes.This process include the exchanging and analysis of routing information

Roting is the process of exchange route between connected router with each other in the network or the process of exchange information about route that is called routing .

The different type of routing is given below

1. STATIC ROUTING
2. DEFAULT ROUTING
3. DYNAMIC ROUTING

EXAMPLES OF ROUTING PROTOCOL

1. EIGRP(Enhance interior gateway routing protocol)
2. RIP(Routing information protocol)
3. OSPF(Open shortest path first)

FUNCTION OF ROUTING PROTOCOL

1. share information with neighbor routers 
2. accept information from neighbor routers 
3. if there are more than one path for destination address than select the best path by metric
4. convergence
